Health Benefits of Drinking Green Tea

Research into alternative healing foods is flourishing, and in the case of green tea much has been learned, already. As a natural stimulant, it can be part of your diet plan, while the antioxidants are good for your heart and cholesterol levels. In addition to that, more is being discovered about this incredible natural and healthy food from the East.

Did you know that green tea is good for your teeth and gum? This has wider and more potentially serious implications because now scientists are saying that the healthy state of your teeth and gum can impact your heart.

There have also been encouraging results from studies of green tea and certain kinds of cancer. Molecules known as polyphenols exist in the antioxidative properties within green tea; the former are also known to have certain positive effects on cancer cells. In China, where a great deal of research occurs, scientists demonstrated a marked lower risk of esophagus cancer due to regular ingestion of green tea. Cancer of the lungs and stomach are two more cancers that may be positively affected by green tea. When it comes to getting the most out of any beneficial food or supplement, including green tea, it's best to eat a healthy diet and avoid unhealthy habits as much as possible.

Practically everyone has heard the word, antioxidants, and they are incredibly powerful for the effects they have on the body. Antioxidants can help to control your blood pressure and cholesterol and may even help prevent certain types of cancer. Green tea has the most wonderful antioxidant called, EGCG (epigallocatechin-3-gallate), and the uses for it in your body are numerous and very healthy. That is the same as what you'll find in vegetables and fruit, although there are obvious differences, etc. For even better healthy, eat your veggies and fruit plus drink green tea throughout your day.

There really are no drawbacks with green tea because it is safe and natural, and the cost is low so that should not be an issue. You can take green tea in a capsule, or you can make a great tea and drink it. Green tea does have caffeine in it, but it's only about half as much as coffee, so that is appealing to some people. Actually, there are other great benefits of green tea, and that is a great reason to consider adding it to your daily diet. This seems to be a substance that has a healing effect on the entire body, especially if you consume it every day.

The above benefits of green tea are only a few of the ones that have become known recently. If you want to start taking it, you have a choice of drinking tea or finding a good green tea supplement. If you take it regularly, you will enjoy more of the benefits.
