Aram Restaurant: A quality Persian Restaurant in LA

By Ilan Gez

In some place like LA you will typically find it's easy to locate some of the better foreign dishes as the town does are a multicultural epicenter. The difficulty however is finding a food establishment that really lives up to the homeland standard. To paraphrase, if you were from Mexico, would you need to eat at a Mexican cafe that hardly meets the standard? If you'd like a little taste of home, you would need to either do quite a bit of searching, or you would need to return to the homeland.

Today however we're talking about Aram Diner found in LA, and those having an interest in Persian cuisine, or Mediterranean dishes generally are definitely wondering whether or not it is actually worth the effort. We suspect this is a candidate for the title best Persian restaurant Los Angeles.

The very first thing you need to know is that unlike many high end Persian restaurants, this one does basically deliver, and it doesn't seem to have a problem with doing that. As well as that the complete menu is available on the net, and it features quite a few great appetizers. You may want to look at the Chicken Kotlet, or maybe even the Aram Mixture which features their lamb chops, fillet Mignon, and even fish with 3 types of fried rice.

The once per week Rice Plate specialty also makes this a rather nice place to visit, though you've got to wonder what the local population claims about the establishment. The reviews are really quite mixed for the main part which is to assert that some of the people we talked to were popular, and some claimed that there were better establishments to eat at.

With the average meal being $22, we would suggest finding a better place to eat at any rate, but one common report is that the staff is always polite. There is hope for a place like this, as you can imagine, and we'll continue to look at.
