Paleo Diet Information

Improvement of the class of today's diet is what the Paleo diet concerns. This perception is based on the assumption that today's genes are in reality the creation of life conditions that were formed more than a million years ago in our progression -- the period of the caveman.

It takes far longer for the human being to adjust their metabolism and physiology to different lifestyles because farming and the cultivating of plants have only been around for only about 10,000 years and, our bodies have not adapted to appropriately digest these food sources. It takes far longer for humans to adapt their metabolism and physiology to different lifestyles. We have not had adequate time to adapt our genes to ingesting grains, legumes and dairy products. This is why so many people have had so many digestive problems with the typical diet of today's society.

The Paleo diet is based around fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats which is what the cavemen customarily ate. This indicates a diet where you stay away from processed foods. To sum it up, the Paleo diet informs you that if it comes in a box, you should not eat it. In spite of this, there are numerous foods that form the foundation of the Paleo diet. Consuming lean cuts of meat are a key to the Paleo. Some kinds of organ meats like liver and tongues are also allowed. You may include a maximum of six eggs per week in your diet. Though dairy products were not a part of the cavemen's diet; they did eggs. Nuts can be pleasurable as a treat while following the Paleo diet. They are excellent sources of monounsaturated fats which are the "good" kinds of fats. Nuts are effective in lowering cholesterol, and reducing the threat of heart disease, they are also credited with reducing the risk of some cancers such as breast cancer. Yet, if you are following the Paleo diet for the purpose of losing weight, you should limit the amount of nuts that you eat because nuts also contain calories. As you stay on this diet, your metabolism will increase, and you can eat more nuts later on.

A great principle for the foods to stay away from is that if it comes in a box, don't eat it, there are other off-limit foods in the Paleo diet that do not "come in a box." As you may have guessed, the cavemen did not have soda machines in their caves, so sugary drinks like soda are off limits. In reality, sugar is off limits, period. That includes syrups and sweeteners. Since grains are not consumed on the Paleo diet, all food products that are made with grains are off limits as well, including pancakes, cookies, pasta, rolls, etc. And, because the cavemen did not eat dairy foods like butter, cheese, cream, etc., they are also off limits.

There are many benefits to following the Paleo diet even though ir restricts many of the typical foods. This diet consists mainly of high-protein meals. Research reveals that if the average person eats a high-protein diet for six months, they could lose from ten to fifteen pounds. That is with no increase in physical activity. You could lose even more weight with an increase in your physical activity, making the Paleo diet an impressive choice for anyone who wants to lose weight or who just wants to become healthier.
