Everyone Loves It: Pizza Pensacola

By Mia Berger

Pizza Pensacola is a fantastic dinner option. It's quick and easy and not very expensive. Doesn't everyone love it? By changing toppings we can come up with several different taste sensations. Regionally, there are different ways to prepare it. People tend to be very loyal and feed into the rivalry between regions. Most of the time, we prefer the pizza we grew up on.

The crust is the foundation of the pie. It can be left to rise for a thick crust or rolled flat for a thin one. This can great change the way it tastes. People usually have a strong preference for one way or the other.

One of the most famous styles is the New York pizza. The most popular version has a thin crust and is prepared with a tomato sauce layer, topped with mozzarella and pepperoni. Other toppings are often added from mushrooms to anchovies. People like to use their imaginations. Some people even like variations like seafood pizza.

Chicago is famous for deep-dish style which is very different from other types. It's prepared so that the toppings and cheeses are often more than an inch thick. This is eaten much differently than the standard thick or thin crust pizza. This is usually a tomato based dish with many of the same toppings use in New York.

California offers a brick oven style that is cooked without a pan, directly on the oven floor. The crust is thinner and little crisp. It's topped with unique things like roasted veggies, fresh herbs and fresh mozzarella.

Pizza Pensacola can be any of the mentioned types since they don't have a version specific to their area. This is a great option when you need to feed a group. Schools almost always have it available because it contains all four of the food groups. Then again, who doesn't like pie? It's a perfect lunch.
