Cold foods can spoil or lose their nutritive value if they become overheated and foods that should be warm should not be allowed to cool down.

When you are making spaghetti sauces and cheese sauces you can sneak some nutrition in there by adding pureed vegetables. Many children balk at eating their vegetables, but they cannot do that if they do not know that they are there. Hiding them in sauces is a good way to get them to eat them with no complaints.

Make sure that you eat snacks before meals so that you are not starving by the time that it is meal time. This is a good idea because people who snack tend to eat less when it is meal time. Make sure to choose healthy snacks like fresh fruit and vegetables.
