Candy Origin

By Joshua Adekane

We all have favorite candies from our childhoods. Why? Because while it's true that candies are not healthy, they there are lots of good thing about them. For one, it's delicious. Secondly, it's something that people don't mind going out of their way to buy. And truthfully, candies just make us feel so good! Since we all love candies and nobody can ever truly resist them, let us try to find out how candies came to be...

Well...it all started...

Candies during the time were not as fancy as they look today. Moreover, chocolates didn't come to be until the mid-1800s. Candy in the Middle Ages was simply fruit or nuts covered in honey or something else that was really sweet. And during that time, they were already as expensive as our gourmet varieties today. Now in this day and age, you have a much wider and bigger selection-not to mention the many candy wholesales that you can choose from! It's just one of the things that you need to keep in mind regarding candy! During that time, people have never heard of "wholesale" candies, much less have seen some!

How Candies Developed

Candies have developed into how we know them today by riding the times. But of course, there are pioneers in changes as well as those that followed suit. Take the M&M's for example. These tiny chocolate candies that have the famous tag line 'melts in your mouth, not in your hands' have been made this way so that chocolate won't melt on a hot sunny day. Also these chocolates were made with regards to the military! (After all...there is a big difference in fighting in cold as well as hot and humid terrains!) In fact, they were exclusively only for the consumption of the military during the World War II.

Still Around

There are also candies that have stood the test of time. Chocolate is an example of a candy that will probably be around for good (which wasn't really sweet when it was first discovered. How it ended up being made into candy when it started as a spicy thick drink is a mystery!), and even the candy corn. There are lots of other bulk candies that you can buy that have their origins in much older, simpler times! No one would have ever thought... When you do a candy research, try not to be too surprised because you'll truly learn a lot!

Finally...

Another interesting story is about the candy bar that had to be delivered right on your doorstep just like milk. That's right-that's how our friend the Heath bar started out! It's truly fun to learn about your favorite candy bar! (No pun intended, of course.) These are just a few fun facts and trivia about your candy. Who knows-maybe you'll find out something you didn't know that definitely fascinates you... we can only hope! Finally, just enjoy feasting on your yummy, absolutely delicious candy! Maybe you'll even be prepared to pass your knowledge on! For those hoping for a healthier snack but still a little sweet, I would suggest getting some wholesale dried fruits.
