Cone-type and basket-style, these are good filters and they deliver different brew results. It does not matter the whether it be a cone or basket, it matters what can they offer. The key is the contact time in order to have better coffee. If you want smaller maker, go with cone filters for less spillage. If you decide for a big maker with higher cup capacity, go with basket-style. There are premium filters also available a little pricy though but if you can afford to buy them, go for it.

If you are buying a coffee maker that has a grinder (internal or attached), always go for a best quality grinder (blade or burr). As having, a best quality grinder can make your coffee consistently brewed. The more consistent is the grinding, the more consistent the coffee from one batch to the next. Moreover, finer grind does not automatically mean a better brew. Powderized or finely grind bean ground will make for watery coffee. In addition, course, the same effect happens.
